New Biker Kid on the block

Meet the newest biker on the block!
It took 5 minutes in a parking lot for Mike to get this little boy jumping curbs on his 2 wheeler...
He is so proud of his newest accomplishment!
Come to think of it 5 year olds have a Big year...he has learned to tie his shoes, read, do math, ride a 2 wheeler, lost his 1st baby teeth...sigh...he is growing up way too fast...not to mention he walks around all day saying 'dude' this and 'dude' that!

Kites & Crabs

This weekend we went to the beach for their Kite Flying day. I saw pictures of last year online and I thought it looked cool for the kids. It was Freezing out but worth it... I didnt know that there were some die-hard kite flyers out there...they have a club and matching coats :) They did crazy tricks and some of the kites were gigantic. We ended buying 2 classic kites and we came home w/ one...the wind was so strong- Caleb lost his...
There were hundreds of kites in this one field- Mike said it looked like the planes invading pearl harbor.
Then we went to the rocks and looked for some crabs...they loved that even more.

A day at the zoo

The Long awaited Prairie Dogs!
The kids love prairie dogs and ran to them screaming like these creatures were their long lost family members! Luckily we had great timing and it seemed like all the females at the zoo just gave birth. There were tons of prairie dogs out w/ their tiny babies, the pigs had piglets and we saw tiny fluffy yellow chicks.
Love at 1st Sight...Jacob and his prarie dogs! She wasnt even posing for this picture...this is how she rode! The computer wont let me upload these other cute pics...oh well...
Sova was really nervous walking into the entrance- she didnt know what to expect...except animals, which do make her nervous. She also does not like crowds- she freqently says, 'too many people!' But she qucikly decieded she like's the zoo... The otters were a hit but Caleb was terrified of the peacocks that roamed freely and were sometimes perched above our heads in the trees. Overall, the zoo was a hit as usual :)

An American Citizen and a legal 'Turner!'

Today was a big day for this little girl.
Sova Grace became an American Citizen and we finalized her adoption in here in the US.
In the Indian court system we were granted 'guardianship' of her but once we brought her to the US we have to go through the US courts to legally adopt her. In India she recieved the cutest little green card to be here which now she doesnt need. They gave her a nice little diploma today and she was very proud of it...she stared at it driving home and beamed while pretending to read her name, "Sova Grace Elliana Turner." Today made her an 'offical' Turner- up until now her legal name was just 'SOVA.' She was treated to red nail polish and icecream today :)
Jacob was so excited to go to a, "courtroom and see a real judge" - I think he had some crazy image of a powerfully robed supreme court judge looking type of man. The judge was in and out in 30 seconds and wore regular business clothes....much to Jacob's disapointment he said, "THAT was HIM! "
